As of November, 2008, the premium (subscription) service contained Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in organizations from Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. By experimenting with the site, researchers will discover there are also service records of officers and enlisted men who did not belong to any particular regiment, company, comparable unit or special corps. If you do not subscribe to Footnote, check with your local library or genealogical service organization. Many public collections have begun subscriptions to such premium web resources as a service to their customers.
